Tortoreto turns Blue once again

Once again, for the 28th consecutive time, Tortoreto turns blue with the prestigious Blue Flag award. This annual international recognition by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), honours coastal locations that excel in sustainable management of their beaches and marine waters.

The announcement of the Blue Flag for Tortoreto on May 14th was met with great enthusiasm by the local community. This coveted recognition underscores the efforts made by the town administration and citizens to preserve the environmental integrity of their stunning coastline over the years.

Tortoreto had to undergo rigorous evaluation based on strict criteria, including the quality of bathing water, efficiency in waste management, facilities and services provided to beachgoers, as well as environmental awareness and sustainability education.
